Although the fictional cave is located in Citrus County, the action-packed novel has the murderers acting either individually or as a team throughout Florida and even Georgia. Much of their ‘hunting’ takes place in Marion County, along the Suwannee River, in Port Orange and in Key West. Persons interested in the out-of-doors will receive a great introduction into the trials and tribulations of anyone hiking cross-country or working in Florida’s rough wilderness areas. The author has also woven discussions of urban sprawl and uncontrolled development into the story!
This is not a book for the faint of heart. The accomplices engage in seduction, kidnapping, torture, rape and murder, and some of the descriptions are graphic.
The following is an excerpt from the Outskirts Press website: “Even as a youngster, Paul displayed a troubled, sadistic nature. He discovers a cave on the property of a client in Citrus County, Florida. Paul purchases the property and begins to develop the cave, hiring two young retirees to help. One is a born loser, the other wants to share in Paul's exploits. The 'team' is joined by a young woman (Mary Ann) who has been mistreated by her father and Eric Rudolph and vows to avenge her self against all men. A reign of terror is initiated by two of the men using force and by Mary Ann working independently through seduction.” Other excerpts are available on the Outskirts Press website to pique reader interest.
